The Balochistan government has acquired 21 new buses for Quetta and Turbat as part of its efforts to enhance public transport across the province, officials from the transport department confirmed on Wednesday.
The new fleet includes twelve green and five pink buses for Quetta, while four green buses will be deployed in Turbat. The pink buses are designated for women to ensure safer and more comfortable travel for female commuters.
Officials stated that the new buses are expected to be operational within the next two months. In addition, public transport routes in Quetta will be expanded, including a new 32-kilometer route from the Assistant Commissioner’s office in Kuchlak to Mianghundi in Saryab.
Meanwhile, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has introduced a revised gas supply schedule for Quetta during the summer months. The new plan aims to provide uninterrupted, full-pressure gas from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm daily, with supply suspended between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am to help residents better plan their daily routines.
