VEHARI - A scholarly and research-focused seminar titled “Research Ethics, Thesis Writing Skills, and the Role of DNA Barcoding in Modern Scientific Research” was held at the University of Education, Lahore – Vehari Campus. The seminar was organised under the supervision of Campus Principal Prof Dr Sheikh Israr Ahmad and Assistant Professor of Zoology Dr Muhammad Farhan Nasir. The event featured Dr Abeer Ishtiaq from the Department of Zoology, Islamia University Bahawalpur, as the chief guest and keynote speaker. In his address, Dr Ishtiaq emphasised that “research ethics are the foundation of any scientific inquiry, and when research is conducted within ethical boundaries, its outcomes are credible and impactful. Thesis writing is not merely a formality; it is an art that reflects the essence of research, while DNA barcoding has revolutionised biological studies by enabling rapid species identification.”Highlighting the significance of the seminar, Prof Dr Sheikh Israr Ahmad stated, “Our aim is to not only acquaint students with modern research methodologies but also to instill in them the importance of scientific integrity and ethical standards.”Dr Muhammad Farhan Nasir added, “The true purpose of research is to expand knowledge and serve society. Technologies like DNA barcoding are invaluable tools that help us understand and conserve biodiversity more effectively.”The seminar witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from faculty and students of the Department of Zoology. Notable attendees included Dr Naveed Ahmad, Dr Imran, Ms Aaliya, Ms Aamna, Ms Saadia, Ms Maryam, Ms Ishrat, Ms Afreen, Mr Farooq, Mr Hassan, Mr Haroon, and many others.
