Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace & Culture Organisation and wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, accused India of spreading terrorism and violating international agreements, including the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
At a press conference in Islamabad, she blamed the Indian intelligence agency RAW for orchestrating the Pahalgam incident, asserting that it was another in a series of false-flag operations. She cited previous incidents such as Pathankot, the Jaffar Express, and events in Gujarat as examples of similar operations allegedly carried out by Indian agencies.
Mushaal condemned India's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a dangerous move that threatens regional peace. She said the move reflects India’s aggressive posture and undermines international norms.
Highlighting the plight of Kashmiris, she said tourism—their last remaining economic lifeline—has also been destroyed. “It is against the Kashmiri ethos to harm guests. Even during curfews, Kashmiris have shared their homes and food with tourists,” she added.
She accused the Modi-led government of fabricating excuses to initiate conflict and of consistently blaming Pakistan without evidence. Mushaal also raised concerns over rising threats to minorities in India, including Muslims and Sikhs, and condemned ongoing human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.
She urged the United Nations and international community to take notice of India’s actions and pressure it to halt its repressive policies.
