The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has exonerated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati from allegations of unlawful appointments, following an internal investigation.
According to a report released by PTI’s internal accountability committee member Qazi Anwar Advocate, the accusations originally made by former senator Azam Swati lacked credible evidence.
The committee determined that the appointments in question were either made before Babar Swati’s tenure or followed proper procedures.
The report further suggested that Swati was being targeted not for any misconduct, but due to his steadfast loyalty to the party’s founder.
It noted that Swati had also addressed the KP Assembly in November, raising concerns over police actions against PTI workers at D-Chowk in Islamabad a speech that sparked a broader discussion in the house involving both opposition and government members.
The committee concluded that the pressure on Swati stems from his political alignment and loyalty within the party rather than any proven wrongdoing.
