Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will arrive in Pakistan on a two-day official visit from April 20 to 21, 2025.
According to the Foreign Office, the high-level visit highlights the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, and reflects the two nations’ shared commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During his stay, Sheikh Abdullah is expected to engage in discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and strategic sectors.
In a related development, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier J. P. Nduhungirehe, will also visit Pakistan from Monday on a two-day official trip. He is visiting at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Tirmizi, reported that bilateral trade between Pakistan and the UAE reached over $10.9 billion during the fiscal year 2023–24. This included $8.41 billion in goods trade and $2.56 billion in services, marking a 20.54% year-on-year growth in the services sector.
Pakistan’s exports to the UAE rose by 41.06% to $2.08 billion, while imports fell by 14.45% to $6.33 billion, reducing the trade deficit by 28.28%.
Remittances from the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE also played a crucial role, reaching $6.7 billion in 2024 and expected to exceed $7 billion in 2025, according to Ambassador Tirmizi.
