US Political Counsellor Zachary V. Harkenrider called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar AliKhan on Thursday, engaging in detailed discussions on Pakistan’s political, economic, and security landscape.
Held at the PTI chief’s residence, the meeting saw both sides exchange views on matters of mutual interest and express a commitment to continued communication. Former PTI Information Secretary Rauf Hasan was also present.
Meanwhile, political dynamics continue to shift as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leaders publicly opposed forming an alliance with PTI for any anti-government movement. During a recent Central General Council meeting chaired by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, party leaders advised pursuing an independent strategy.
JUI leader Hafiz Hamdullah, speaking to media, cited a lack of trust and unresolved grievances with PTI, stating the party’s current condition made cooperation unfeasible. He left room, however, for issue-based collaboration in Parliament.
