A 5.9 magnitude earthquake rattled several parts of Pakistan on Saturday, causing panic among residents in cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Peshawar.
The quake also affected areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Lower Dir, Bajaur, and Malakand, while strong tremors were reported across Punjab, including Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, and Chiniot.
Frightened residents rushed out of homes and workplaces as the ground shook. According to authorities, the earthquake had a depth of 94 kilometres, with its epicentre located near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. Tremors were also felt in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been confirmed.
