At least five terrorists were gunned down on Saturday during a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other law enforcement agencies in Dukki.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched following a tip-off about the presence of militants associated with a proscribed organization. As law enforcement personnel approached the hideout, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, prompting a fierce gun battle that resulted in the deaths of all five militants.
Authorities confirmed that the slain terrorists were involved in previous attacks targeting security forces and labourers in the region.
The bodies of the militants were later shifted to the Civil Hospital Dukki.
