Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhryhas asserted that traveling abroad on a fake Pakistani passport is "impossible," citing the country's passport system as compliant with international standards.
His remarks came during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior, chaired by Khuram Shehzad Nawaz, where the growing issue of human smuggling was actively discussed.
Chaudhry revealed that authorities have arrested 200 individuals involved in human smuggling so far.
Committee member Zartaj Gul pointed out that several Arab countries have imposed restrictions on individuals from Dera Ghazi Khan due to smuggling-related concerns.
Responding to a query from MNA Nosheen Iftikhar, the Interior Secretary informed the committee that legal frameworks are in place to take action against deported individuals and human traffickers, including a five-year suspension of their passports under existing policy.
