Two Levies personnel were martyred on Wednesday when unknown gunmen opened fire on an anti-polio team in the Kali Teri area of Mastung, police confirmed. The bodies of the fallen personnel have been shifted to a local hospital.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack, expressing profound grief over the loss of lives. In his statement, the premier labelled the attackers as enemies of humanity and vowed that they would be brought to justice.
He reaffirmed the government's unwavering resolve to eradicate polio from the country, stating that such cowardly acts would not hinder national efforts.
Calling on the public not to lose hope, PM Shehbaz urged parents to ensure their children receive polio vaccinations, emphasizing that the anti-polio campaign will continue with full determination.
