The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has rescheduled its upcoming session to May 19, during which the appointment of permanent chief justices in the country’s four high courts, including the Islamabad High Court (IHC), will be finalized.
Sources revealed that the session, initially set for May 2, has been postponed to allow time for nominations, which are to be submitted by May 4.
The commission will deliberate on the appointments for the IHC, Sindh High Court (SHC), Balochistan High Court (BHC), and Peshawar High Court (PHC). Names of three senior judges are expected to be considered for each post as part of the process to ensure permanent leadership across all four high courts.
