The Christian community across the globe is celebrating Easter today with religious fervour and solemnity. Special prayer services are being held in churches to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, marking one of the most significant events in the Christian faith.
In Pakistan, special security arrangements have been put in place around churches to ensure the safety of worshippers and prevent any untoward incidents.
On this occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan.
President Zardari, in his message, reaffirmed that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of minorities, adding that the government remains committed to the uplift and empowerment of all minority communities in the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, paid tribute to the Christian community for its valuable contributions to Pakistan, both during the struggle for independence and in the country’s ongoing socio-economic development.
He expressed hope that the community would continue to play an active role in shaping a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Pakistan.
